When in Paris, I usually opt for a 4-star hotel. Rooms tend to be a bit larger and the bathrooms are better equipped. Here are our favorite 4 star hotels in Paris, listed for each arrondissement.

Paris 4 Star Hotels: 1st Arrondissement
The 1st Arrondissement is in the very heart of the city. It is walking distance to most tourist sites and therefore is more expensive. Some fabulous hotels are located here; but we have found a few less expensive gems as well. Here are our top picks in the 1st arrondissement for 4 Star Hotel in Paris:
The Hotel Cambon, is located near the Place de la Concorde, Vendome, Opera, Faubourg Saint-Honore, Louvre Museum and Champs Elysees. The elegant guest rooms in this 4-star hotel feature a customized design and a warm and friendly atmosphere.

4 Star Hotels in Paris: 2nd Arrondissement
The Second Arrondissement is in the heart of Paris close to everything including the Louvre, the gorgeous Opera Garnier, fabulous shopping and great restaurants.
This lovely hotel near the Paris Opera is decorated with refined, antique furniture.
All bedrooms are charming and have private marble bathrooms, air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, and safes. Some rooms are on the small side, but all are 4-star quality.
The hotel restaurant “Le Celadon” is renowned for its outstanding French cuisine. The staff is very friendly and efficient. When we stayed here, we found it a pleasure to return to our little piece of heaven after a full day of sightseeing.
Edouard VII Hotel
The Hotel Edouard VII has become a couture hotel, with different room sizes and styles for differing tastes. The location is perfect, with some rooms looking out at the magnificent Opera Garnier.

The Third Arrondissement is near the beautiful Place de Vosges and the nearby Marais district. It is busy and vibrant.

Best 4 Star Hotels in Paris’s 4th Arrondissement
The Fourth Arrondissement lies along the Seine and on the Ile St. Louis. It, along with the 3rd Arrondissement make up the area known as the Marais. Considered the arts district, it is also home to a sizable Jewish population
Hotel Villa Mazarin
Housed in a prestigious 1850’s Haussmann building, the Villa Mazarin is unique in its neo-imperial style, ambiance, and warm welcome. You will enjoy the warm colors, superb black and white stone bathrooms, fine art in every room, air conditioning and large rooms. This was the first 4-star hotel in Paris to be completely non-smoking.
Facing the glorious Renaissance Hôtel de Ville and BHV, the famous “Bazaar” where shopping is an adventure, you are just a few steps away from cafés, terraces, chic boutiques, and bars. This is a great central Paris hotel.
Top Paris 4 Star Hotels: 5th Arrondissement
The fifth Arrondissement is located on the left bank (rive gauche) It is also known as the Latin Quarter because the Sorbonne where students studied Latin at one time is in this area. A colorful neighborhood, the Latin Quarter is made up of winding cobblestone streets lined with little shops and restaurants.
Relais St. Jacques
The Relais Saint-Jacques is near the heart of the Latin Quarter and close to the Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon.

The 6th Arrondissement is known as St-Germain-des-Pres because the church of that name is a landmark in the area. Great for shopping and dining, this area is lively and upscale. It also offers proximity to the glorious Luxembourg Gardens. Don’t even consider leaving Paris without a stroll through the Luxembourg Gardens.
The elegant d’Aubusson Hotel is housed in a former 16th century mansion that has d’Aubusson tapestries displayed in the salon.
All rooms are spacious, well insulated against noise, and fitted with individual air conditioning systems. All rooms are spacious and meticulously appointed with original wood beams, priceless fabrics, antique furniture and marble bathrooms.
Every room has air-conditioning, sound-proofing, a safe, mini-bar, cable TV and direct dial telephone. Breakfast is included. The famous restaurant, Le Comptoir, is next to the hotel; it is a brasserie by day, and a petit-gastro restaurant by night. This is a great Paris Latin Quarter hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at the stylish, boutique hotel, Le Madison.
The hotel offers free wifi and rooms at Le Madison Hotel offer a mini bar, an iPod docking station and with free tea and coffee making facilities.
The location is ideal since it is steps to the St Germain des Pres Metro Station and a short walk to the Musee du Louvre, the Musee d’Orsay and Jardin du Luxembourg. We partook in the hotel’s ample breakfast bar, but there are many other dining options in the area. The Hotel is situated on the busy Boulevard Saint-Germain, but our room was blissfully quiet.

The Seventh Arrondissement is known as the Invalides because it is home to the gold-domed Invalides, a former hospital. The area hosts military museums Napoleon’s tomb, the D’Orsay museum and the Eiffel Tower.
K and K Cayre
Set in the heart of St-Germain-des-Pres, it is walking distance to the Latin Quarter, Invalides, the D’Orsay and Rodin museums,, The K andK Cayre is a luxurious boutique, hotel combining modern design and state-of-the-art technology with individual charm. When we stayed here, our room had a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower.
Individually adjustable air-conditioning, sound-proof windows, satellite TV with international channels, ISDN direct-dial telephone with voice-mail, safe, mini-bar, coffee & tea making facilities, free Internet access in all rooms, electronic door lock, and working desk in most rooms makes it perfect for leisure or business guests. The fully equipped, luxurious black marble bathrooms with hair-dryer and underfloor heating are what won me over. Non-smoking rooms are available.
Hotel Le Tourville
A Town House nestled between the Dome of the Invalides and the Eiffel Tower, the Hotel le Tourville is located on a quiet avenue, set off by beautiful lighting and landscaping.
It offers a charming and elegant atmosphere with all rooms equipped with satellite TV, air conditioning, marble bathrooms with a bathtub, telephone, soundproofing, hair dryer, and WiFi. This is a serene and elegant 4-star hotel with excellent service at a reasonable price.

4 Star Hotels in Paris: 8th Arrondissement
The beautiful and expensive eighth Arrondissement in on the right bank (rive droit,) and hugs the glamorous Champs Elysees. Many of the great hotels of Paris are here as well as the famous couturiers and “Grands Magasins” (department stores) This is Paris at its most chic.
Replete with charm, this 4-star hotel in Paris with its chinoiserie style and lush fabrics will make you feel pampered from the moment you enter.

The newly redesigned rooms in three shades, blue, fuchsia, and aniseed are modern and fresh. Most rooms have a small lounge. Rooms are air-conditioned and have a safe, satellite TV, a mini bar, and a hospitality tray with tea and coffee. We love the look and the fabulous service at this hotel and it is priced fairly. Highly recommended. Rated number 1 hotel in Paris by Trip Advisor.
Situated close to the Arc de Triomphe in a beautiful neighborhood, the Hotel Bassano offers a warm welcome with the colors of Provence throughout.

Located conveniently near La Defense and Porte Maillot, Villa Maillot features a conservatory restaurant and rooms with marble baths and Art-Deco style furnishings.
4 Star Hotels in Paris: 18th Arrondissement
The eighteenth arrondissement, best known for Montmartre which was the center of the flourishing artist community from around 1907 to 1914. Picasso, Dali, Duchamp, Toulouse-Latrec, and others lived and worked here. The 18th is also the home of a thriving ethnic community in the east and a seedy red-light district along Boulevard de Clichy near Place Pigalle.
Recently re-opened after a dramatic renovation, the Terrass Hotel is a beautiful, modern oasis. Positioned on the very renowned ‘Butte Montmartre’, this 4-star hotel is just 15 minutes from the Opera and the Champs Elysees. Nearby, the famed Sacre Coeur Cathedral, the Moulin Rouge, and the shopping center are within walking distance.
The top floor has been completely transformed to make way for a restaurant, an indoor bar and a landscaped outdoor terrace with panoramic views of Paris. If you want to stay in the Montmartre area, this is a great choice.
