Most people have heard of and even visited a few UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which can be found in almost all countries in the world.  These are sights of cultural or environmental significance (or both) that we need to protect for future generations.

Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Our cultural and natural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration.” UNESCO World Heritage Website

So far, I have visited over 100 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, in Europe and beyond. Each and every time I visited one, it exceeded my expectations and I was amazed by the history and beauty of each site.

I want to share these wonderful places with you, encourage you to add more UNESCO heritage sites to your itineraries, and learn more about the history and culture of the countries you are visiting. So I am setting out on a challenge…
