Best Paris 3-Star and Budget Hotels – by Arrondissement

Finding a great 3-star hotel in Paris is a joy. There really are some three-star hotels that are better than 4-star hotels.  Stars many-times are awarded for amenities like larger rooms or restaurants, not on the quality of the hotel experience itself. These are 3-star hotels that we recommend wholeheartedly and hope you love them as much as we do.

Hi, we would be visiting Paris in August and thinking of staying in the 9th arrondissement or the 15th, would like to know which place would be better as we like to visit Disney, the Eiffel Tower, Nore Dame cathedral, Sainte Chapelle? We are travelling with kids below 6.

  2. says

    Hi,
Both arrondissements are fine, and you can get everywhere with the Metro. (You will need to take the RER to Disney, or buy a package.) Check with the Paris Tourist office for ideas. http://en.parisinfo.com/
If you plan to go to the Eiffel Tower, buy your tickets online in advance, so you won’t have to stand in line. http://www.toureiffel.paris/
One thing that I like to recommend for families with children is a visit to the Luxembourg gardens. (Near the 15th arr) Terrific for children to play with the small boats which keeps them occupied for some time. They also have pony rides and puppet shows and absolutely lovely surroundings with lots of room to run and play.

  3. Mario says

Thanks very much Terri for your valuable tips. Will definitely try and visit the gardens. Also, any idea which airport is closer to the 15th Arron….. CDG or Orly?

  4. Ursula says

Hi. Many thanks for the information on your site. I have never been to France and must say I am quite lost. We are travelling to France on 20th of August for six days. I am torn between staying in Montmartre or Le Marais. I have been advised that Montmartre can be a little unsafe. I am also seeking self catering accommodation as opposed to a hotel. My husband and I are in our fifties so please could you assist with advise on which area to stay. We are happy to walk and take the local transport but would like areas that are safe at night.
    Many thanks
    Ursula

  5. says

Hi Ursula, I think that the Marais is a lovely area in Paris. I agree that there are area in Montmartre that I would avoid. Self-catering is an excellent idea, and I think you will find a lot of options in August. Don’t be afraid to look at areas such as the 14th arr. It is a very nice area with lots of restaurants and places to stay.
