Where to Stay in Ibiza, Spain

The island of Ibiza has a limited number of hotel options, so we’ve compiled a list of our favorite  ‘where to stay’ recommendations. When choosing where to stay in Ibiza, it helps to know whether you want to enjoy peace and quiet or party all night in world-famous clubs. We have given preference to hotels in the town center as well as the club area to the west, and we also include two exceptional hotels on Talamanca Bay. If traveling on a budget, consider the hotels’ half-board options, as many of the local restaurants tend to be expensive. The following ‘where to stay’ options are organized by star rating, from 5-star hotels to budget hotels.

5-Star Hotels in Ibiza Town

Hotel Mirador de Dalt Vila
This is the only 5-star hotel within the historical Dalt Vila area of Ibiza Town, and it is located inside what was once a 19th century mansion. The two suites, four junior suites, and several uniquely designed rooms offer individualized climate control, complimentary WiFi, jacuzzis, and Loewe bathroom amenities. Make sure to take advantage of the pillow menu. Amenities include a swimming pool and Jacuzzi located beside the on-site gardens, a yacht day-trip service, a cocktail bar, a wine bar, and the Es Mirador restaurant, which features fine-dining-style Mediterranean cuisine. Note that breakfast can be eaten in the room at no additional cost.

Ibiza Gran Hotel
Located a five-minute walk from the center of Ibiza Town, this luxury hotel has fantastic views of Dalt Vila and Ibiza Bay. Modern and artistic, this hotel focuses on providing each of its guests with a uniquely private experience. Each of the spacious suites features a separate shower with massage options, luxury toiletries, individualized climate control, complimentary WiFi, and whirlpool, which is actually incorporated into the bedroom.

The myriad amenities include a sauna, fitness room, Jacuzzi, pool, spa, Jack Pot Restaurant, Casino de Ibiza, and the Costa Mara restaurant, which features contemporary cuisine in a fine-dining atmosphere. Breakfast is served daily, and guests can choose to dine at traditional tables or on luxurious white fabric couches. Note that some rooms feature two twin beds pushed together rather than king-sized beds.

4-Star Hotels in Ibiza Town

THB Los Molinos
This is one of the few 4-star hotels centrally located in Ibiza Town. It is just steps from the beach and offers 152 rooms and 14 apartments. Each room has a balcony, air conditioning, and free WiFi. The apartments also have a living room and fully equipped kitchenette. The rooms are basic and the décor lacks inspiration, but the rooms are clean and functional and the hotels amenities are expansive, including an outdoor pool, a pool for children, two on-site restaurants, a fitness room, and a spa, which features a heated pool with jet currents. If you can put up with simplistic rooms, this hotel is a good value.

Simbad Hotel
This hotel is located on Talamanca Bay, which is the perfect location for those looking to escape Ibiza’s party crowd. A luxury 4-star hotel renovated in 2007, it features modern rooms with air conditioning and complimentary high-speed internet (ask for a cable at the front desk). Amenities include indoor and outdoor pools, a solarium with sun beds, a fitness room, sauna, Jacuzzi, live music, and complimentary WiFi in the lobby. The breakfast buffet offers a good selection with omelets made to order. It takes around 50 minutes to walk to Ibiza, and buses run regularly and stop nearby. Request a room with a seaview on an upper floor, and specify that you want a full view free of palm trees.

3-Star Hotels in Ibiza Town

Nautico Ebeso Hotel
This hotel is all about location, and it comes at a good value. It overlooks the beach and is just a five-minute walk from the center of town. The 123 rooms are basic and clean, if a little small. Each comes with air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and internet connection (for a charge). Both child and adult pools are offered, both just yards from the sea. The breakfast buffet is quite expansive, and the seaview rooms are worth the price.

Hotel Victoria
Located on Talamanca Bay, this hotel is clean, modern, and well run. It takes about 40 minutes to walk to Ibiza Town, and buses run regularly and stop nearby. Each of the rooms feature air conditioning and WiFi (for a charge). Amenities include a child pool, adult pool, game room, an on-site restaurant, and an on-site bar that features live shows. The breakfast buffet is expansive and features eggs made to order. The on-site mini golf course is a nice perk. Make sure to request a room with a sea-view. The half-board option is a good value, as many restaurants in Talamanca tend to be expensive.

Aparthotel Jabeque
This hotel is about a twenty-minute walk from the Ibiza Town center, and it is ideal for travelers who want to stay in a quiet hotel within reach of Ibiza’s nightlife. It’s also a family-friendly hotel, though high season can be noisy. The 159 apartments are spacious and each comes with a fully equipped kitchenette, air conditioning, and balcony. Apartments have either two or three beds. Amenities include two pools, complimentary sun beds, a restaurant 20 yards from the hotel, and a playground. The hotel’s WiFi can be patchy and expensive: best not to bother.

Fiesta Hotel Don Toni
This hotel is a bit out of town (50 minutes by foot) in Ibiza’s club area, and it is a good choice for those craving nightlife, as part of the hotel is a nightclub! Travelers with children shouldn’t be turned off, however, because family-friendly entertainment is also provided. All 320 rooms come with air conditioning. The hotel has two pools, a Mini Club for children, sunbeds and umbrellas (for a charge), and WiFi in the lounge (for a charge). Planes fly overhead when leaving the airport, but the rooms tend to be quiet. For the quietest rooms, ask to stay on the side of the hotel away from the club. Note that the rooms on the club side feature more modern décor.

Budget Hotels in Ibiza Town

Lux Mar Apartments Ibiza
These budget apartments grant you quick access to Ibiza Town and the Figueretas beach, and they are quite inexpensive. Apartments and suites can comfortably accommodate two to three adults, and each comes with a fully equipped kitchenette, air conditioning, and balcony. The hotel has a pool and solarium with sun beds, all of which are free to use. WiFi is available for a charge (1€ for 30 minutes as of April, 2012). Families may find this hotel a bit noisy during peak season. Ask for a room with a seaview.

Hostal Europa Punico
This clean, 24-hour hotel is excellently located near the marina and the town center, and it is cheap. All of the 28 rooms are private (there are no dorms) and feature small private bathrooms, air conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite TV, individual safes, and complimentary WiFi. Breakfast is included in the rate. Note that there is no elevator.

Love that you have suggestions outside of the bustle.  Ibiza has a strong reputation for it being discoland.  So much more to this beautiful island.
