Where to Stay in Munich – Best Munich Neighborhoods to Stay in for Tourists
The cultural heart of Munich and the best place to stay in Munich, if you are a museum lover. Many of Munich’s 80 museums, the Residenz and the Bavarian State Opera House are located in this neighborhood. It is also within walking distance to the Marienplatz and City Center.
The Marienplatz is the town square in Munich’s Altstadt. You will find ample opportunity for shopping and many restaurant choices, including the Hofbräuhaus. For a little bite to eat or to find some tasty souvenirs, visit the Viktualienmarkt, where you can find any produce (local and imported), meat, fish, and other delicacies.
Schwabing is a great neighborhood for tourists that want to explore the nightlife of Munich. You’ll find many bars and clubs, posh restaurants and cozy cafés on every corner. It is also the home to the English Garden. Make sure to visit one of the many Beergardens and watch the surfers on the Eisbach!
Glockenbachviertel is the hip and gentrified area of Munich. You’ll find many bars, restaurants, galleries, and boutiques in this area. It is also centrally located, so you can walk to many sights and attractions in Munich.
Before you come to Munich, do not forget these 2 important points:
