Where to Stay in Languedoc Roussillon

I just love the Languedoc Roussillon region of France. Located just west of Provence, Languedoc Roussillon offers fantastic food and wines, authentic small towns, and some of the best sights in France, including the Pont du Gard and the walled city of Carcassonne. This region is also home to Nimes as well as numerous, untouristed, small town jewels to include; Uzes and Beaucaire.

Here are my suggestions for where to stay in Languedoc Roussillon:

Where to Stay in Uzes

Hostellerie Provencale
Hostellerie Provencale  is located in a 300 year old stone building in the heart of the medieval town of Uzès, just a short walk to the Place aux Herbes. The Hostellerie Provencale offers a charming blend of authentic provence with modern conveniences such as flat screen-TVs, air conditioning, internet access, mini-bar and bathrooms with showers or a whirlpool bath. The rooms are warmly decorated in authentic Provençal style, and provide a comforting respite after a day of sightseeing.

The restaurant, La Parenthèse, welcomes guests with the very best fresh products of the region. Dinner on the terrace offers guests a spectacular view over the nearby countryside. And the wine list offers the best wines of the region.  We had a delicious dinner on the roof-top terrace. Because we had to leave  before breakfast for an early flight, our hosts generously brought us an early, in-room breakfast. We loved this cozy hotel and can’t recommend the Hostellerie Provancale more highly.

Comfortable beds, a fantastic breakfast and the park-like setting will make this hotel one that you will remember as your vacation retreat! We stayed in an amazingly comfortable apartment. Where to Stay in Nimes

Imperator Concorde 4-star
This lovingly refurbished hotel is located in a quiet part of Nimes, but in walking distance to all the ancient Roman sights. There is a certain elegance to this hotel that reminds me of Napoleon. It has a spacious garden where you can order lunch or a drink and enjoy the delightful weather. The rooms are large and the staff is excellent. A new general manager has returned this historic hotel to its rightful place as an outstanding 4-star hotel.

Royal Hotel 3-Star
We stayed here for a night last summer and found it to be small and quaint, almost like a family-run hotel. The staff is more than gracious and the rooms are generously sized. Each guestroom is fully equipped with a range of conveniences to include: air conditioning, daily newspaper, hair dryer, ironing board, and up to date televisions. We found the hotel to be very convenient to all that Nimes has to offer. We were able to easily walk to every sight. We heartily recommend this hotel.

Hotel Residence Le Cheval Blanc 3-Star
If you are into modern decor, you will want to stay at the Hotel Residence Le Cheval Blanc. It is located on a quiet street directly across from the Arena de Nimes…a spectacular sight. The rooms are newly designed and decorated with white walls and wooden accents. The Hotel Residence Cheval Blanc offers air-conditioned apartments with  private balconies and free Wi-Fi internet access. The hotel restaurant is well worth a try; we had a wonderful dinner made even better by the lovely atmosphere.
