Where to Stay in Turin Italy – Best Hotels in Turin for Every Budget

Where to Stay in Turin – Best Hotels in Turin

In the northwest corner of Italy, the city of Turin is one of the largest cities in the country, and, though it is short on 5-star accommodations, it offers a solid range of ‘where to stay’ options.

Turin is off the beaten path for most tourists, and yet there are so many things to do in Turin. It is surrounded by the culinary riches of the Piedmont region, from excellent wineries and white truffles to Slow Food restaurants and bars with a booming aperitivo culture. This makes it ideal for the ravenous gourmet traveler, and skiing in the Alps is also nearby.

The following ‘where to stay in Turin’ recommendations favor hotels that are located in central Turin as well as hotels that furnish free WiFi. When choosing where to stay, keep in mind that the star rating for hotels can be a little off in Italy and that, in general, it’s best to use the rating as a rough guide and not as a determining factor.

5-Star Hotels in Turin

Hotel Principi Di Piemonte
This hotel, not to be mistaken with the hotel by the same name in Viaggio, has an excellent location and provides many of the services of an international 5-star hotel, including a well-outfitted spa. With 1930’s architecture, the ambiance is classical and chic, and many rooms come with great views overlooking Turin.

The 99 rooms and suites feature WiFi for a fee, spacious, all-marble bathrooms, and top-notch room service options. Amenities include the onsite, fine-dining Casa Savoia Restaurant and a bar with outdoor seating during the warmer months. Note that the hotel does not have a fitness room, but, otherwise, the accommodations and quality of service come at a high value.

NH Lingotto Tech
Technically a 4-star hotel, although the Five Star Alliance grants it 5 stars, NH Lingotto Tech offers a high level of luxury; unfortunately, it comes at the cost of being somewhat outside of the city center. As a plus, the hotel is part of the old Fiat Lingotto factory, which is also home to the Renzo-Piano-designed 8 Gallery, one of the best shopping spots in Turin.

Also, a tram line direct to the center of Turin is nearby. Within this historic setting, the hotel offers contemporary furnishings and rooms with work desks and WiFi for a fee. Amenities include a 24-hour room service, indoor paid parking, onsite dining, a spa with a sauna and steam bath, a fitness room, and, believe it or not, a rooftop running track.

4-Star Hotels in Turin

Grand Hotel Sitea

Grand Hotel Sitea
A fantastically central hotel, Grand Hotel Sitea is one of the best 4-star options in Turin, providing a luxurious, Old World experience with all the modern amenities. In particular, in a country where a piece of toast and an espresso usually comprise an entire breakfast, the hotel’s complimentary buffet breakfast is reasonably substantial.

The rooms are mid-sized and clean, and each comes with free WiFi and independently controlled air conditioning. The opulently decorated onsite Carignano Restaurant serves international cuisine for lunch and dinner, and diners can enjoy views of the internal garden while dining.

AC Hotel Torino By Marriott
This accommodation offers a great value for budget travelers. A Marriot-run hotel, it used to be a pasta factory, and it is located near the 8 Gallery shopping center.

When visiting 8 Gallery, make sure to check out Eataly, one of Italy’s best gourmet establishments and sight unto itself. The hotel is also located on a tram line that runs direct to the city center. Rooms are ultramodern, well maintained, and come with air conditioning as well as WiFi for a fee. Hotel parking is available for a fee, and the area has a good selection of street parking options, too.

Residence Sacchi
This convenient apartment-style accommodation located near the central train station (Porta Nuova) is perfect for those staying a few days in Turin and who want to cook some meals in. The staff is accommodating and friendly, and there are 40 spacious, clean apartments between 430 and 1000 square feet in size.

Decorated in the local fashion (no over the top décor here), each comes with a fully furnished, if compact, kitchen, complimentary WiFi, and a large living area. Private parking and a grocery service are offered for a fee. For those particularly sensitive to noise (or those who just enjoy quiet courtyards), ask for a room overlooking the internal courtyard, which has a few pleasant trees. The central sights are about a 20-minute walk from the hotel.

3-Star Hotels in Turin

 Best Western Hotel Genova
Another especially convenient hotel, Best Western Hotel Genova is located right next to the Porta Nuova train station. The accommodations are modern and feature air conditioning and free, if sometimes spotty, WiFi; some offer balconies. Amenities include a spa, fitness center, hot tub, complimentary breakfast, and a cocktail lounge.

Note that, like most European train stations, Porta Nuova has a homeless population. Also, the hotel’s quietest rooms face away from the station.

Parco Sassi Hotel double

Parco Sassi Hotel
A very unique accommodation, this hotel lets you stay near the bank of the Po River within the Po Natural Park. Additionally, the hotel is efficiently run and has the features of many 4 and 5-star hotels, including a small gym, a large garden, and spacious rooms.

The city center is about a 40-minute walk away, and the hotel staff can help you to use public transportation. The room price includes air conditioning, WiFi, and breakfast, as well as bike rentals and parking on a first-come-first-served basis.

Hotel Urbani

Hotel Urbani
Two blocks from the main train station, this hotel is slightly removed from the rumble of the Trenitalia trains and offers a central location for a good price. The basic rooms could use new furnishings, but they are clean and comfortable and have air conditioning. Some rooms have free WiFi, too.

The rooms price includes a somewhat complete breakfast by Italian standards; however, watch out, the coffee comes from a machine! Fortunately, there are plenty of nearby cafes serving excellent Italian coffee.

Budget Accommodations in Turin

Hotel Adalesia
With a central location for a decent price, this hotel keeps it clean and basic. Renovated in 2011, the rooms come with free WiFi, and they are very minimalist, with few racks for clothing or towels in the bathroom.

The staff is friendly and knows how to provide a comfortable stay. Tip: For the quietest experience, as for a room away from the tram line. Note that some staff members do not speak English.

Pensione Duca
Located in a quiet neighborhood in central Turin, this hotel has a family-friendly vibe, spotlessly clean rooms, and efficient, friendly service. Rooms share bathrooms, but the ratio of bathrooms to rooms is quite high.

Each of the rooms features a different color theme, so if you don’t like pink or lavender, make sure to say so. The hotel offers free WiFi. If you are particularly sensitive to noise, choose another hotel: the doors are quite thin and sounds from the hall can be a nuisance.

I hope this guide on the best hotels in Turin for every budget helped you decide on where to stay in Turin during your visit.
